Biography Born in Santo André, in the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo , she is the daughter of sales supervisor José Monteiro Alves and housewife Maria Aparecida Lima Alves. As a child, she participated in poetry competitions and dance festivals at school, always placing first. In her early teens she became interested in having an artistic career. She returned to her parents' house in Santo André , but after three months she decided to live alone in São Paulo . She chose to stop studying Social Communication, which was closed, and started studying Advertising , but she did not complete the course, and continued on the theater course to try to get into a soap opera one day. At that time, she was already traveling around the country acting in plays. [ 6 ] In 1998, Regiane passed a test, and made her first soap opera , Fascinação , with a starring role, on SBT . She was highly praised, convincing television critics that she could do other soap operas and would have chances for growth.
